October 20 in San Antonio history…

1899 
The first automobile in San Antonio, an electric, arrived at Staacke Brothers today. However, the batteries did not arrive with the car so the first drive would have to wait.

1956
The Top Ten Review of 1956 comes to the Municipal Auditorium.  The concert features: Little Richard, Bill Doggett, Big Joe Turner, The Moonglows, The Five Keys, Faye Adams, Etta James, The Five Satins, The Robins, Tommy Brown, Johnny Torres and Big Jay McNeely & His Band.

1966
A $7.5 million appropriation for construction of a federal pavilion at the 1968 HemisFair passed the Senate today.
