1868
The cornerstone of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church is laid.  The church would be nicknamed “St. Joske’s” in the future because of the department store built around it.

1973
Today is moving day for the current staff of Metropolitan General Hospital, the $13.5 million, 250-bed module system hospital located at Brooklyn and McCullough and nearing completion. The staff is moving from temporary offices in the Tower Life Building to the new facility.

1990
Ground is broken on the Alamodome, located on the former Alamo Iron Works site and adjacent property, on the east side of Interstate 37 and across from the HemisFair Park area.
