Bexar County is created by order of the Republic of Texas Congress. It was originally much, much larger. By 1850, it went all the way to the panhandle! 128 Texas counties have been created from Bexar County.

1946
James A. “Jimmy” Adair is named as the new manager of the San Antonio Missions, the farm team of the St. Louis Browns.  Adair, who was born in Waxahachie, Texas, will be 38 on January 23. An infielder, he is still a capable performer and may be a playing manager here with a utility role.

1999
Don Strange opens the new Buckhorn Museum and Saloon at the corner of Houston and Presa Streets.
