World War I – 1915
At 10:00 p.m., Great Britain and Bulgaria declare war on each other.

1899 
The first automobile in San Antonio, an electric, arrived at Staacke Brothers today. However, the batteries did not arrive with the car so the first drive will have to wait.

1955
The City Council changed the names of four San Antonio streets today:  Vemis, from Acme to S. W. 41st, is changed to Bemis; Holbrook, from W. W. White to Binz-Engleman, is changed to Petroleum; Frankie, from S. W. 36th to S.W. 40th, is changed to Abshire.

1973
The George H. and Elizabeth Coates University Center is dedicated at Trinity University.
