The first issue of the San Antonio Daily Times is printed.

1926
Two wars, the Spanish-American and the World War are to be fought at Camp Stanley and Camp Bullis within the next few days by Hollywood stars and technicians. Spectators may watch if they stay out of battles. (This was the for the filming of the movie “Wings,” which won the Academy Award.)

1957
When Postmaster Dan Quill asked for a change in the name of the road bordering Salado Creek, the city council reached for a descriptive title. The artery, formerly known as Salado Road, was tabbed as Creekview Drive today. Postmaster Quill had pointed out there is a Salado Street within the city and the similarity of names was causing postal troubles.
