World War I – 1915
Agents from the Department of Justice will meet with James F. P. Archibald regarding the Dumba affair when he arrives in New York today from Holland. Gold bars worth $111,615,000 that arrived from England in the past two weeks are ready to be coined into American gold pieces. They will be used to establish a credit in this country to pay for the purchase of war munitions by England. The melting department has ruled that only American coin may be received by the sub-treasury in New York.

Pope John Paul II visits San Antonio and gives a Mass for an estimated 350,000 people in Westover Hills on the site of what is today Stevens High School.
