The architect for Alamo Heights said the new addition would be “a strictly fashionable residence area.”

1911
A fire broke out in the rear of the Ruby Theater on Houston Street this afternoon.  The building and all the fixtures were destroyed.  The neighboring businesses of the White Swan Cafe, Kalteyer’s Drug Store and Rosenthal’s News and Cigarette Store were all damaged to some degree by fire, smoke and water.
