1909
Orders have been issued changing the name of Aue, a station on the San Antonio & Aransas Pass Railroad, to Leon Springs.

1944
Several San Antonio radio stations broadcast a false report, accidentally released nationwide by a press service, of an Allied invasion of Europe, setting off premature celebrations of D-Day.

1948
Dr. Amiya Chakravarty of Calcutta University, India, close friend of the late Mahatma Gandhi, will speak at the 8 p. m. services at Temple Beth El, 211 Belknap Place.

1968
Hemisfair celebrates “Ed White Day,” to commemorate the life of San Antonio astronaut Edward White Jr., killed in the Apollo I fire.  Mrs. White and her children, Bonnie and Eddie, participate in a ceremony and are given Hemisfair souvenirs.
