1868
The first Fair of the Agricultural and Industrial Association of Western Texas is opened.

1926
Official confirmation of the elevation of Arthur J. Drossaerts to the post of archbishop of San Antonio his been announced following a secret consistory as the Vatican presided over by Pope Pius.

1929
Snow falls on San Antonio!  The town of Clifton, near Waco, receives 24 inches, still the greatest amount of snow ever to fall in Texas.  The Alamo city receives a paltry 2.9 inches of the white stuff.
