Healthy, fun cooking @ your Library!

Two authors and regular television contributors will make stops at San Antonio Public Library locations over the next week.
On Saturday, June 25, Angela Shelf Medearis, the Kitchen Diva, will hostAngela Shelf Medearis two presentations  – one at noon and one at 2:00 p.m. – at the Carver Branch Library. Host of PBS’ “The Kitchen Diva!” and regular guest chef and segment creator on “Dr. Oz“, Ms. Medearis will share funny life experiences from her involvement in the publishing world as she prepares recipes from from her best-selling cookbooks The New African-American Kitchen, The Ethnic Vegetarian, and her latest, The Kitchen Diva Cooks! At 7:00 p.m. on the following Tuesday, June 28, Dr. Neal Barnard will stop Dr. Neal Barnardat the Central Library on his 21-Day Weight Loss Kickstart Book Tour. Dr. Barnard, whose nutrition program appears on PBS stations across the country, will discuss his weight-loss concept, which promotes a three-week immersion into an essentially perfect diet loaded with vegetables, fruits, and other healthy foods. He provides three weeks of recipes, nutrition information, and cooking tips, as well as inspiration from celebrities, including a foreword by Alicia Silverstone, tips from “Biggest Loser’s” Bob Harper, and advice from NBA champion John Salley.This program is also free and open to the public, and a ticket is required for admission.
