1901
The telephone booth placed on the south end of Alamo Plaza by the hackmen was removed yesterday in compliance with the order of the council.

1910
Food products in the city have been undergoing scrutiny of state pure food inspectors. Taft whisky, alcohol flavored and colored with tobacco, has been confiscated.

1920
Members of the Kiwanis Club today endorsed the plan for a San Antonio River drive. It is suggested the drive follow the river closely throughout the city and that flowers be planted along the route.
