1896
A packer in the city brewery bottling department had a piece of the middle finger of his right hand cut off yesterday by a bottle of beer exploding in his hand.

1915
Six planes from the First Aero Squadron, in a history-making event, landed in San Antonio to end a 450-mile nonstop flight from Ft. Sill, Oklahoma.

1925
The city health officer today urged that San Antonians desist from kissing until the current epidemic of colds go away. He admitted his proposal is impractical.
