1929
The Express-News dedicates its new building at the corner of Alamo and 3rd streets.

1959
For the first time in history a world premiere for a grand opera was held in San Antonio. Dr. Carl Venth’s 2-act opera, “La Vida de la Mision,” was presented at Municipal Auditorium by the Symphony Society.

1975
The rock band Rush plays their first concert in San Antonio at Randy’s Rodeo. Local band Heyoka opens the show.
