A caravan of camels went down Main Street on their way to Camp Verde.

1971
Southwest Airlines begins air service to San Antonio, Dallas and Houston with six roundtrips DAL-SAT and 12 roundtrips DAL-IAH with $20 one-way fares.

1977
The San Antonio Charros, one of six teams in the newly-formed American Football Association begin playing today when they host Oklahoma City in an exhibition game at Memorial Stadium.  (The Charros lost, 28-24.)
