1930
Mary Burnett, a senior at Main Avenue High School, is one of many seniors who will wear a cap and gown for graduation.  This is the first year San Antonio high schools have adopted the cap and gown.

1954
Thurgood Marshall, NAACP’s chief counsel in the Brown vs. Board of Education Supreme Court case, speaks at Second Baptist Church.

1962
Harte-Hanks Communications buys the Express-News and KENS-TV.
