1968
Janis Joplin’s scheduled concert in the Hemisfair Theater of the Performing Arts with Shiva’s Headband and Winter is cancelled.

1971
Joske’s annual Christmas Fantasyland opens at the downtown store featuring Sesame Street characters: Big Bird, Oscar, Ernie, Bert, Professor Hastings, Heathcliff, Ralph Monster and Little Bird.  The Dunn Brothers Miniature Animated Circus is also showcased as “The Biggest Little Show on Earth!”

1987
The Denver Nuggets defeat the Spurs, 156-142, in the Mile High City.  The 298 points scored is the second highest in regulation in Denver’s history and the third highest including overtimes.    Spurs coach Bob Weiss said after the game that he would not start the normal five players in the next game against Utah.
