Judge Buckley in police court today ruled that an officer had no right to arrest a man for refusing to give his name as a witness.  A charge of disturbing the peace had been made against the defendant.

1948
The Centeno family opens their first supermarket at 1802 W. Commerce St.

  1. US camels? That would be quite a sight to see. I didn’t realize there were ever camels in the United States. Where could they have come from, and where were they headed? It’s a shame there aren’t any photographs of that incident! Thanks for the very interesting trivia!
