1924
The Gunter Hotel is purchased from the San Antonio Hotel Company for $1,400,000 by the Baker Hotel Company.

1929
The City Central Bank today will join the ranks of the very few buildings in San Antonio which are equipped with new dial telephones.  By 1931, the entire city is expected to be using dial phones.

1945
Army veterans came from all parts of Texas to attend a sale of surplus government property.
