Radio station WOAI transmits its first radio broadcast. It is the third radio station in San Antonio.
1937
San Antonio traffic will be scientifically controlled in the future – new devices will regulate the flow automatically.
1997
Jeffrey Jaffe, president of Central Park Mall, Inc., announced a planned $63 million renovation to Central Park Mall including a 30,000 square-foot bookstore, a 20,000 square-foot athletic apparel store, a 30,000-foot music store, a $40,000 square -foot game emporium and a 30-screen AMC theater complex that will seat 6,200 people. The plan calls for the theater complex to occupy 120,000 square-feet and extend south toward Rector Drive into what is now a parking lot.
