1913
Hundreds of San Antonians attended the first showing of 1914 model of Pierce-Arrow, Page and Chalmers passenger autos at the Alamo Auto Sales Company display rooms.

1934
Scores of striking pecan shellers menaced with stones and sticks the manager of a San Antonio pecan-shelling company.  The manager stayed the crowd by brandishing a pistol until police arrived.

1949
The Parks Department today started its fourth round of DDT spraying of the city. Each round takes about 20 days at a cost of $300 a day according to Joe Ridgeway, superintendent of rivers and ditches
