Opening of the two mile stretch of Fredericksburg Road, closed for five months, was celebrated last night with the attendance of 5,000 people.

1976
Efraim Abramoff announces plans to convert the South Texas Building at the corner of Houston and Navarro streets into a 200-room hotel named the King David Hotel. (The hotel is never built.)
