January 12 in San Antonio history…

1920
Motor Rural Route A, extending over the W. W. White, Austin, Nacogdoches, and Burr Roads from San Antonio into Guadalupe County, will be discontinued Feb. 1.  Condition of the roads has made it impossible for a driver to keep his car in repair it was revealed.

1936
Mayor C.K. Quin announced that Municipal Auditorium was soon to undergo a thorough restoration.

1985
SNOW!
Just after midnight, it began to snow in San Antonio.  It snowed all night and most of the next day, finally dropping a record 13 inches of the white stuff on the Alamo City.  The previous record was 4.7 inches on January 30, 1949.
