In the crowd at the fair grounds yesterday afternoon, Capt. J. M. Van Riner, deputy sheriff, lost a wad of money. He believes the loss was the work of a pickpocket.

1949
First live broadcast over WOAI-TV got underway this afternoon at Alamo Stadium gymnasium. Co-sponsored by the San Antonio Appliance Association, the shows will extend over a three-day period and will feature professional and amateur talent.

1952
Public Works director J. L. Dixon said Friday the first of nine new garbage trucks has been delivered to the city.

  2. We have the newspapers from that time period on microfilm in the Texana/Genealogy Department on the sixth floor of the Central Library downtown. I’m sure there was coverage of the game in the newspaper.
